Department of Electronic and Information Engineering:
GRADUATE EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMME (GEP)
Who We Are
ICT is Our Focus
The Department of Electronic and Information Engineering (EIE) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is working at the forefront of electronics, information, and communication technologies. Since the Department’s establishment in 1974, we have been a provider of quality engineering education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We have also contributed to world-class cutting-edge research in important areas in EIE and related cross-disciplinary areas.
Students are Our Concerns
Our programmes put students at the centre and prepare them for the real-world engineering and technology challenges. Through providing rigorous technical training and complementary activities, we aim to produce graduates not only as professional engineers/technologists, but also keen lifelong learners and responsible world citizens. Our students will possess problem-solving skills, a high level of integrity, social responsibility and respect for others.
Whether you require arrangement of recruitment talk, or simply want to publicize your job opportunities to recruit the right candidates in the electronic and information engineering or the internet and multimedia technologies disciplines, we can work closely with your organization to provide one-stop recruitment services.
Our one-stop recruitment services to employers include:
On-campus Recruitment Talks
We help employers to organize on-campus recruitment talks. Through the recruitment talks, you can interact directly with our students and introduce the details of your recruitment needs to them.
Free Job Posting*
Post your job ad on our Job Posting/Searching Platform, you can reach our undergraduate, postgraduate and research students, possessing professional knowledge and skills with potential to become your employees or interns.

The Graduate Employment Programme (GEP) is a student-centred careers and placement services programme offered by the EIE Department to students and recent graduates of the Department. Its objectives are to help students identify their career goals and interests, prepare for workplace requirements, improve their job-hunting skills and gather relevant job information.
As a start, the GEP offers updated job and career information on electronic and information engineering, internet and multimedia technologies as well as information security professions through EIE Job Board – an online platform specially designed for posting various relevant placement and graduate job opportunities for students’ and recent graduates’ viewing. It also links to PolyU Job Board, Joint Institutions Job Information System (JIJIS) and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Talent Pool Platform which facilitates students’ and recent graduates’ access to a wider spectrum of jobs. The GEP also liaises with prospective employers for arrangement of recruitment talks, job fairs and career seminars with an aim to help students discover their career interests at an earlier stage and plan for achieving their career goals.
